Make sure to check out the liner notes and the cover art breakdown. Building off the success of his second album The Slim Shady LP, Eminem came back harder and with even more targets. Considered by many as his magnum opus, The Marshall Mathers LP also set the one week sales record for a solo artist’s album. It went on to become diamond, and is considered by many as one of the finest records of the 21st century, if not all time.

The Marshall Mathers LP is the third studio album by American rapper Eminem, the album is the follow up to 1999's The Slim Shady LP and was inspired by his critics who had been criticizing him. Released on May 23rd, 2000, the record sold . 6 million copies it's first week and went on to be certified diamond by the RIAA. Having sold over 11 million copies as of 2018, it is the best selling rap album in the United States.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is the eighth studio album by American rapper Eminem. It was released on November 5, 2013 by Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records.

The Marshall Mathers LP is usually regarded as Eminem's best album, and now that I finally gave a chance to it, it is, definitely. Even if I'm not a big fan of Em's "I don't give a fuck" persona, I really can't deny how strong and effective this album. It's Eminem's greatest album to date, and it's at times a fun as hell hip-hop record, at others it's a harrowing character study into the dark mind of Marshall Mathers.

And this decade, only one - The Marshall Mathers LP. You'd have to be about 7 years old to not remember how massive this album was. It broke all records for first-week sales by a solo artist. Nowadays, in the wake of this album, Eminem's every move and every utterance is scrutinized. He's recently come under fire for 2 bootlegs - one saying he wished the President was dead, and one attacking an ex-girlfriend - these events led to FBI investigation and a public apology after the song about his girlfriend was construed as racist by The Source (a magazine that has declared all-out war on him). Oh, and he's won an Oscar.

The editing on this "clean" version is laughably bad. Definitely worth owning as a relative rarity that really reinforces Eminem's general hatred of the hypocrisy of mainstream culture but otherwise absolutely terrible.
Couldn't agree more. This is one of the most questionable clean albums I've ever heard, aside from "The Kids" being a replacement for "Kim" and having some of the most decent editing on the album. "The Real Slim Shady" is the only other song on here that's edited enough to even be played on the radio without getting barked at by the FCC. For real, words like "kill" and types of weapons aren't allowed but "shit" and "bitch" are??? Not to mention they bleep out words that come before "bitch" like "hit" or "slap". Or of course on "Kill You", or I'm sorry... "**** You", the chorus is changed to "Bitch imma **** you!" which sounds worse than simply saying "kill you" in all honesty. That makes no sense at all. Luckily his single clean versions have proper censorship as well as his proceeding albums, especially "The Eminem Show".
