When the RMS Queen Mary was launched in 1936, she was the flagship jewel in the Cunard-White Star Cruise Line crown. At 1,019 feet long, the Queen Mary was the longest ship in the world - even longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall. She was a giant of the sea and heralded for being bigger, faster, and more powerful than the ill-fated Titanic. Her craftsmanship was unparalleled at the time, and today the Queen Mary is still considered to be one of the most elegant passenger ships ever built

The Queen Mary’s creation and launch was nothing if not extraordinary and her story is rich with history, elegance and grandeur. From the time her construction began in 1930 in Clydebank, Scotland, the Queen Mary was destined to stand in a class all her own. Despite suffering economic setbacks during the Great Depression, which stalled construction on the ship for several years, Cunard Line spared no expense on building the Queen Mary – which was originally known as job. As per protocol, legend states that the Cunard directors went to ask King George his blessing of the ship's proposed name saying, "We have decided to name our new ship after England's greatest Queen," meaning Queen Victoria, the King's Grandmother. Upon which the King is reported to have stated, "My wife (Queen Mary) will be delighted that you are naming the ship after he. The Maiden Voyage Of The Queen Mary.

Montreal quartet Wolf Parade's full-length debut fully lives up to the potential bred by their early EPs. They use Apologies to the Queen Mary producer Isaac Brock to their best advantage, acknowledging their debt to Modest Mouse but using his ear as a resource to tinge their endearingly brittle indie pop tunes accordingly. Spencer Krug and Dan Boeckner both sing in that certain kind of wry yelp that seemed so quirkily marketable in the mid-2000s - see the Shins, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Hot Hot Heat - and it doesn't hurt that most of Wolf Parade's songs are distinctive, too.

i today just received another copy of this same boot on the tmoq label this copy has a yellow insert ( same drawing as the red viynl one) and is on yellow viynl................. sounds the same as the red viynl one does as they where all pressed in the 70s at the same time roughly
i cant say im 100% sure what year this was released but this is on the tmoq label and the insert on this copy is blue and the vinyl is red ( this came in a few colors) these tmoq titles where released between 1973 and 1976 or there about 1972 seems a bit early but i could be wrong, well this is what it is a very nice 70s style boot of the 12/10/71 gig in long beach ca, as you can see this is obviously only part of the show a little less then half as i have the japan 1998 killing floor japan 2 cd version of the whole show and 19 songs where played live, these releases are from the early to mid 70s so lets say this was the beggining of the bootleg era coming in and tmoq released some of the best boots at this time, this is a great who collectible and another great addition to my who collection....ps if you like read my review of the whole show from the cd set this was a killer show and it sounds a bit better on the 2 cds
Most titles from this label were busted and destroyed in 1980. A few copies of a few titles were confiscated as evidence then returned to the bustee in 1981 who sold off these "rescued" copies (they weren't technically illegal in Canada). Titles on this label are among the rarest unofficial releases ever issued.
this was a nice sliver factory pressed 2 cd set of the infamous who boot called closer to queen mary that was released back in the 70s on the tmoq label i also belive the lp was released on both color and black vinyl. regardless i never had the vinyl but this 2 cd set is the whole show with nothing missing, i would grade the sound here as A-- as it is a very very good audience recording NOT SOUNDBOARD but still if you are like me and you are into live who shows from the 60s and 70s this will blow out your ears, spooky as townshend starts to get pissed and go off on people who are pushing and stage rushing ( little did he know 8 years later 9 people would die at a who show becouse of that in 1979), roger goes off a bit to on the crowd regarding that matter BUT it did not get in the way of the music, the whole show is spot on tight and it was a loud show, my only complaint is whoever recorded this gig hit the stop button a few times during the show between songs but it only stops for about 3 seconds each time and the tape goes back on and you are back in december 1971 again, anyway as i said this gets an A- and also it is a nice japan made mini sleeve wich is a replica of the original who boot lp and even the yellow sheet with the track listing was replicated for this, well done here...
You need to get your facts right about the circumstances of the Cincinnati tragedy where 11 fans died (not 9) and many more injured. This did not happen anywhere near the stage and certainly not during The Who's performance, but at the main doors of the building prior to the concert commencing.
