ALBUM LINER NOTES: The 103-year-old Royal Albert Hall in London - Britain's most prestigious auditorium with a seating capacity for 6000 - witnessed a musical phenomenon unequalled in its hallowed history when the inimitable Lata Mangeshkar made her international "debut" on its august stage with a series of three concerts in the aid of the Nehru Memorial Project. in Britain in March 1974. Seldom, indeed, has the hall been booked for a single recitalist three times in one week

In Concert with The London Symphony Orchestra (also cited as In Concert with The London Symphony Orchestra Conducted by Paul Mann) is a live album and DVD by the British hard rock Deep Purple, recorded on 25–26 September 1999 at the Royal Albert Hall in London with the London Symphony Orchestra, and released on 8 February 2000 on Eagle Records

While a solid live album with an interesting and rare performance, Live at the Royal Albert Hall has even less mainstream appeal than the In Concert With the London Symphony Orchestra DVD. The musical experiment is more interesting to watch than it is to listen to, making the CD a definite fans-only item. Deep Purple's Live at the Royal Albert Hall will please the band's longtime fans. Not only are they still rocking, but Deep Purple pulls off a feat that destroys most bands. Hard rock acts like Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith have recorded with full orchestras to mixed results

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra return with a series of brand new concerts, including a phenomenal film music extravaganza, as well as some regular favourites. This performance by Renaissance took place in the Royal Albert Hall in London, and dates from October 1977. It was never actually broadcast in full, and lay unreleased for many years. The album features a full rendition of the "Song of Scheherazade" suite, complete with accompaniment by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Prologue" is a great opener, which while effectively an instrumental, originally contained some superb vocals by Annie Haslam. Here it is performed by the orchestra alone as an overture, prior to the band taking the stage. It should have been wise to combine them into a more affordable double album. This concert at the Royal Albert Hall is another occasion for the band to play lots of their great classic songs in combination with an orchestra. They already had done this experience a year earlier in New York (Carnegie Hall).

That changed in June 2016 as the band appeared with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra adding some a classical vibe to hits like These Dreams, Alone and What about Love, they also reinvented old favourites like Dreamboat Annie and Magic Man while rocking the house to the rafters with Crazy on You and Barracuda. This very special show was most certainly not just nostalgia as the band and their extra 68 backing musicians also played tracks from their 16th album Beautiful Broken. In a career spanning over 40 years it seems inconceivable that Heart have never performed at London’s most famous venue The Royal Albert Hall. Films in Concert Films. See All. Rush: R40 Live.
