Additional Information.
Striborg is a black metal, ambient project of Australian musician Russell Menzies. The project first began in 1994 under the name Kathaaria and during this time the stage name "Vvelkaarn" was used. The name Kathaaria was adapted from a Darkthrone song titled "Kathaarian Life Code". Three full-length albums were released as Kathaaria; one each year from 1995 to 1997.
The prolific Tasmanian black metal, ambient project Striborg was founded by its sole creator Sin Nanna in 1993 under the name Kathaaria, with the name Striborg chosen in 1997. Over the course of this long career, Striborg has released two-dozen albums and other shorter releases, but the 2004 full-length Spiritual Catharsis (originally recorded on an analogue 4-track) seems to have acquired a special place in the hearts of Striborg fans
- Recorded By – Sin-nanna
NotesLimited to 500 copies.
An hour of dark ambient and power electronics.
"Spiritual Deprivation" represents a left turn into the alter ego of Sin-Nanna's main project Striborg. Consisting of six total tracks, the first five are an exploration into the world of ambient darkness while the sixth is an audial onslaught of nearly a half hour of power electronics. "Spiritual Deprivation" is not the new Striborg sound merely a side step of artist expression.
This is the studio version of a concert originally performed at MONA for the Mathew Barney exhibition opening as requested by the artist.
Recorded in November of 2014 with no multi-tracking (performed exactly the same as the live set).
