World Record Club issue of the soundtrack to the MGM film produced by Arthur Freed and starring Judy Holliday and Dean Martin. The sleeve has "This album released by World Record Club, Australia" on the back, and the catalogue number on the labels is the WRC "7057".
Dean Martin proves to be an excellent musical comedy star, and Judy Holliday, repeating her role as an answering machine operator from the Broadway show, is as good as ever in this film adaptation of July Styne, Betty Comden and Adolph Green's music from Bells Are Ringing. The particular revelation is Martin, who handles character songs like "Do It Yourself" and "I Met a Girl" convincingly
Actors: Judy Holliday, Dean Martin. Format: Closed-captioned, Color, Subtitled, Widescreen, NTSC. That said, "Bells Are Ringing" fell into an early 60s "let's not spend too much money" spirit (especially since the studio was putting a lot of money into films like "Cimarron", "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and "Mutiny on the Bounty")

Bells Are Ringing is a musical with a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Jule Styne. The story revolves around Ella, who works at an answering service, and the characters that she meets there. The main character was based on Mary Printz, who worked for Green's answering service. Three of the show's tunes, "Long Before I Knew You," "Just in Time," and "The Party's Over", became popular standards.

NotesWorld Record Club issue of the soundtrack to the MGM film produced by Arthur Freed and starring Judy Holliday and Dean Martin.
Difficult to spot as a World Record Club release, as the sleeve and labels are all in the Capitol style. The sleeve has "This album released by World Record Club, Australia" on the back, and the catalogue number on the labels is the WRC "7057".
Mono and stereo versions have an identical sleeve and the same number on the back (W 1435) - the mono version has "7057" on the labels, while the stereo has "S-7057", with 'stereo' written on the labels too. The stereo was issued with a large "S" sticker on the front of the sleeve.
