Future Blues is the fifth album by American rock band Canned Heat, released in 1970. It was the last to feature the band's classic lineup, as Larry Taylor and Harvey Mandel departed soon after its release and songwriter Alan Wilson died later that year. It was also the only classic-era Canned Heat studio album to feature Mandel, as Henry Vestine had been the lead guitarist on the previous albums.

The Reading-born, world-inspired guitarist Mike Cooper has followed a path of never taking the expected or right turn, pressing against the boundaries of popular musical culture since the 1950s. Known primarily for his folk/blues/jazz playing in the 1960s and 70s, Cooper has set upon a much different course since then. Taking in every conceivable musical influence along the way, he has dabbled in all manners of avant music. His discography takes another twist with the release of his new exploration, New Guitar Old Hat Knew Blues.

They were recorded live in Marseille in 2007 at the Festival Nuit d'hiver #5. The last 2 tracks are with "Truth In The Abstract Blues" a group with vocalist Lcila Adu and drummer Fabrizio Spera. recorded live in Montisii in Tuscany in 2007.

So here I work with songs by JB Lenoir, Skip James, Son House, Blind Boy Fuller and others but in a more contemporary "deltatronix" context in places.
