What a strange track. The first thing you notice is the most striking: No kick drum! No, it doesn't come in halfway through. There is no kick drum.Musically it's a quirky little House track, yet very German in style. Quite melodic too, but don't expect any 303 action. There's no "acid" here at all.The a-side is the vocal mix, which surprisingly for the era doesn't sound too clichéd. Well, not compared to shit like "ACIIIEED" or that horrible mid-way sampling part of You Used To Hold Me.The b-side is instrumental, with a fade-in start just to piss off DJ's.Let's be honest, either mix of this track would clear a floor in a second. But you know what? Mixed over some dubby Techno or Tribal House DJ tool you might just create something special.Worth a shot.
I actually really like this 12" including the Orb mixes.. But I agree it's very strange track...... It sounds to me like they've made this track by taking a sample from New Order - Blue Monday and then added vocal tracks and then played around to form very repetitive but at same time hypnotic and quite innovative techno track.
From Adam Morris (CO-owner of WAU/Mr. Modo Recordings:"THIS WAS A PROMO THAT WAS ISSUED OF A REMIX OF A GERMAN TRACK MADE BY SOME FAT GERMAN MATES OF PATTTERSON. WHEN IT WAS SENT OUT, THE PROMO GOT SOME VERY BAD REACTIONS, I SEEM TO REMEMBER EASTERN BLOC IN MANCHESTER TELLING ME IT WAS THE WORST HOUSE MUSIC THEY HAD EVER HEARD AND THEY WOULDN’T WIPE THEIR ARSES ON IT, LET ALONE SELL IT.WE ENDED UP WITH A LOAD OF UNWANTED PROMOS SO IT NEVER GOT RELEASED. MODO PAID 100% FOR THIS AND AGAIN LOST MONEY."
the video link is wrong. this is a very reduced trance version of the track.
