Fisiognomica is an album by Italian singer-songwriter Franco Battiato, released by EMI Music Italian in 1988. It sold 300,000 copies in Italy. The cover features a photo of Battiato as an adolescent, when still living in Sicily. L'Oceano di Silenzio" is an operatic song containing German text from Fleur Jaeggy's Wasserstatuen.

1988's Fisiognomica (Physiognomy) sold more than 300,000 copies and it confirmed Battiato's success. The album, considered by Battiato himself his best work for the balance between music and lyrics, contained the hit "Nomadi" ("Nomads"), originally recorded by Alice and written by his old friend Juri Camisasca, who in the meantime had retired to a Benedictin monastery.
