The album received a lukewarm reception, with critical opinion tending to the view that by this time The Delfonics were hampered by weaker material than that being produced contemporaneously by other Philadelphia soul groups such as Blue Magic and The Stylistics. Four singles were released with moderate success.

The Delfonics (album). The Delfonics is frequently singled out as the group's most cohesive and complete album and the high-point of their recording career.
