Rush ‎– A Show Of Hands. Label: Mercury ‎– 836 346-2. Recorded By – Dave Roberts, Gary Stewart (2), Peter Craigie. Written-By – Lifeson (tracks: 2 to 10, 12 to 15), Lee (tracks: 2 to 10, 12 to 15), Peart (tracks: 2 to 15), Dubois (tracks: 12).

The remainder of the album's track list is comprised of Rush's best compositions from 1982-1987, such as "Subdivisions," "Distant Early Warning," "Force Ten," "Time Stand Still," and "Red Sector A," as well as several tracks that have been forgotten over time ("Marathon," "Turn the Page," "Mission," et. Also featured for the first time on a live Rush album is a completely unaccompanied drum solo by Neil Peart - the intricate "Rhythm Method.

9, 1989, 'A Show of Hands' became an end-of-an-era album for Rush. As they'd done with their previous live release, 1981's Exit. Stage Left, Rush released a video to complement A Show of Hands, drawing footage from the . shows sourced for the record and packing on some extra tracks to round out the expanded 90-minute running time. And just as they'd done in '81, when they released Exit along with the Moving Pictures album, Rush served up a double dose of new product in 1989: On Nov. 21, less than a year after A Show of Hands arrived in stores, they returned with their 13th studio LP, Presto.

Even the most die-hard Rush fans will say that they hate the period from around the mid 1980's to the end of that decade. While some fans (me and KILL and jethro42 and 420yeah) adore the period and appreciate that a band can change its sound without "selling out" as they say, the synths were, at times, a bit overdone during this period, although most Rush fans will tell you that there were definitely some great songs made. Like every era of Rush's career, they usually end things with a live album.

Rush is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on March 1, 1974 by the band's own label Moon Records in Canada and by Mercury Records in the United States and internationally. Their first release shows much of the hard rock sound typical of many of the popular rock bands emerging earlier in the decade. Rush were fans of such bands as Led Zeppelin and Cream, and these influences can be heard in most of the songs on the album.

Rush A Show of Hands 1988, CD, Epic Records Japan (Japan, Advance release) Oddly, "Prime Mover" does not actually appear on the record, though several other songs from the studio album it was on, 1987's Hold Your Fire, do appear. Recording information: Recorded in Birmingham, New Orleans, Phoenix, and San Diego during the 1988 Hold Your Fire tour as well as in the Meadowlands (East Rutherford, NJ) during the 1986 Power Windows tour.

Although their fans treat the three members of Rush as if they were the Holy Trinity, the band chose the theme of another threesome - the Three Stooges - as the opening fanfare for its third live set. It’s a bit of self-effacement to be found nowhere else on this album. Most of the material on A Show of Hands is from Power Windows (1985) and Hold Your Fire (1987). Many of the performances stick closely to the studio versions, even down to having ’til Tuesday’s Aimee Mann repeat her backing-vocal stint for Time Stand Still
